✅there is / are + @ 

there are people. 

there are many people.

there are a lot of people.

there are a lot of cars / car은 셀수 있는 명사라 are을 씀

there is a lot of traffic / traffic은 셀수 없는 명사라 is를 씀

there is a lot of time(=i have a lot of time)

there is a person.

there is a problem.

there are many problems. 

✅there is(are) no + @ 

there is no bathroom here.

there are no bathrooms here. 

there is no time. 

there are many good restaurants nearby(near here)

✅there isn't a lot of~

✅there aren't a lot of ~

there aren't many people. 사람이 많지 않다. 

~이(가) 많지 않다 / 별로 없다. 

 

✅have(there + @보다는 have를 사용하는게 자연스러운 경우들)

i have a piano.

우리집에 침실이 두개 있어

- i have 2 bedrooms.

- my house(apartment) has 2 bedrooms. 

내 방에 큰 창문이 하나 있어요

- i have a big window in my room.

 - my room has a big window

- there is a big window in my room(제일 사용 빈도 낮음/내가 이 창문의 주인이기 때문에)

there is -> 그걸 사용하는 사람이 소수의 인원이 아닐 경우에 사용하면 좋은 표현이다. 

이 근처에는 횡단보도가 없어요 

there is no crosswalk near here. 

there are no crosswalks nereby.

부모님의 집에는 tv가 두개 있어요.

there are 2 TVs at my parent's place(자연스럽진않다)

they have 2 TVs at their place.

my parents have 2 TVs at their place. 

그 가게에는 테이블이 아주 많아. 

there are a lot of tables at the stores(자연스럽진않다)

they have a lot of tables.
